Go For It!

Cherish your visions and your dreams as they are the children of your soul; the blue prints of your ultimate accomplishments.- Napoleon Hill

After reading the above quote, I was reminded of Bro. Graham's message at Camp Meeting where he spoke about not letting your dreams die. If I may, let me encourage you to follow your dreams and visions in the Lord. Each of you have talents to offer and don't allow discouragement to step into your path and stop your progress. Just as the above quote states, it is true that what you dream is just the "blue print" or plan. It is up to you to raise the dream into reality and achieve. Go for it! You can do it! I believe in you!

2007 Season

Six Flags Magic Mountain in Valencia, California was the grand finale performance for this season of WAY Choir. This year's events began at the Western District Youth Convention during spring break at Bakersfield Convention Center in Bakersfield, California. During the summer, the choir toured Northern California and Oregon, made a two-night appearance at the Western District Camp Meeting in Santa Maria, California before the finale at Six Flags. It was a great season with many miracles of salvation. If you are interested in becoming a WAY Choir member, please check the WAY Choir website for audition dates. The site is www.waychoir.org.

Values

Hey everyone!!!

With all of Campmeeting, Senior Camp, and everything else going on, I am sorry there hasn't been a devotional post in a few weeks. I am back on the ball and am going to start posting one series entitled "values" during the next few weeks. Let me know what you guys think!!

Tyler

Value Your Reputation

Values

Its easy today to see that a lot of values have changed over the years. What some people value today, is different than what people valued 30,40,50, even 10 years ago. When September 11th happened, we didn’t value our freedom as much as we do today. But, when something challenged what we had so dearly taken advantage of, our value systems toward what this great country is all about changed. Whenever something challenges your comfort zone, your value system changes!

VALUE YOUR REPUTATION

It’s sad to see a lot of young people today not valuing their reputation. Now I know the only opinion you should care about is Gods, but valuing what certain people think about you has a way of propelling you forward in life, or propelling you backward in life and is biblical. I value what my pastor thinks about me. I value what some of my close friends think about me. I know that they will tell me or somehow let me know if I am stepping somewhere I shouldn't be stepping or going in a direction I shouldn't be going. I value their opinion about me. It helps keep my reputation in tact.

It’s very hard to rebuild your reputation when you have damaged it. That’s why you have to be so careful about everything you do and say. Especially in front of eyes where your actions could effect somebody. One moment of lost trust, takes a lifetime to earn back. Some things can never be earned back. Some things can only be brought back by God when you ask for forgiveness from the only one who can really give it to you.

I think that’s where a lot of us get mixed up - in the crossover line between wanting to do a work for God, but not actually wanting to be accountable for our actions off the spotlight. They want to be used by God or they want to be in a position where people can see them, and yet won't admit to the fact that now that I am in a leadership position, all eyes are on me, but I can still do what I want.

You can tell what people value just by watching them. It’s funny to watch how their value system changes in front of people then in front of friends. This is how you can tell the difference in real people and fake people. Recently I was watching somebody who was in a small leadership position, and in front of an audience this person would move the crowds, minister, and use the gifts God had given them to their full extent. But as I watched, when the lights were off them, when the show was over, when things were back down to planet earth, they started acting different, doing stuff they knew they shouldn’t be doing - THEIR VALUES WERE DIFFERENT AND THIS WILL NOT GO UNNOTICED BY PEOPLE. Remember, your reputation doesn’t come from what the audience says about you when they see you on stage, because that can change from Sunday to Sunday. But your true reputation among people comes when people see you when you aren’t in front of the lights, on stage, or in a elevated position, but when you are down to earth being who you really are. BECAUSE WHETHER YOU BELIEVE IT OR NOT, PEOPLE ARE WATCHING YOU!!! You are in a leadership position. Be careful what you do. Be careful what you say. Always think twice before saying something!!

Because some things can't be replaced, they can't be forgotten, and their value is beyond measure.

A Message from Bro. Fitzpatrick

Dear WAY Choir Members:

Thanks again for such an incredible time we had on WAY Choir tour this year! I’ve been living in the afterglow and thanking God for what He did this year.

The WAY Choir has been asked to sing at TWO Campmeeting services, Thursday, August 2, and Friday, August 3. We will do songs from this year’s tour. This is a great honor for the WAY choir to be asked to sing again this year!

EVEN IF you DID NOT go on Tour, you are needed to sing with us at Campmeeting. need EVERYONE to come to Campmeeting to sing. I KNOW this is a sacrifice for you to get there, and it is NOT EASY, but please - MAKE THE EFFORT!!

Please RESPOND to this e-mail to confirm that you are going to be at Campmeeting. Thanks SO MUCH for your help with this matter!

1. Campmeeting Repertoire - Learning Songs/Parts – Action Required
1. Forever Faithful
2. Great Things In Store For Me
3. Holy, Holy Holy Is the Lord
4. I Am So Grateful
5. I Bless Your Name
6. I’m A Pentecostal
7. My Life Is Not Mine, It’s Yours
8. Over There
9. Something Special About That Name
10. Standing On The Promises of God (maybe)
11. There Is A Name
12. We’ve Come To Magnify The Lord (Rizn)
13. Why Not Trust God Again
14. You Are Welcome Here (Livingstons)

2. Choir Rehearsal – Thursday Afternoon, August 2, 2007 at the Tent At Campmeeting.
We will do a choir rehearsal on Thursday afternoon at the tent at Campmeeting. I’ll send you the EXACT TIME in another e-mail as soon as I know what the time will be.

To help us learn parts quickly, we will break out into sections, rehearse 3 songs and then reassemble to perfect those three. We will take a break, and then repeat the same process with the next three songs.

3. Clothes and Robes
We will wear robes for Campmeeting. But, after we sing, you will be removing your robe and we want to make sure that the clothing you are wearing is appropriate for the situation. During the performance, any clothing with a collar will be visible. So here are the guidelines. When the choir is singing, wear only WHITE shirts/blouses. We don’t want to see orange, green, blue or any other color except black, white or black/white. You would REALLY stand out! During the altar service, we will be praying with seekers and you will want to remove your choir robe, and you will want to be dressed appropriately. The goal is for us to look like ONE uniform black/white unit with the robes on. WHEN YOUR ROBES ARE OFF, YOUR CLOTHES SHOULD LOOK LIKE YOU ARE GOING TO CHURCH.

4. MONEY, MONEY, MONEY
Some people did not receive their lunch money (for Saturday) from Tour. I will give it to you at Campmeeting. I also will give the Tour members the last day’s lunch money, but you need to be at Campmeeting to get it!

5. Most Importantly – Be In Prayer/Fasting for Campmeeting – Action Required
Thank you for praying for the choir for the tour. Please also spend some additional time in focused prayer and let’s prepare our hearts so that God can minister to others through us. Thank you for fasting for the Tour on the Fridays. LET’S ALSO FAST AGAIN THIS FRIDAY, JULY, 27, 2007 UNTIL 3:00 PM.

We MUST have the ANOINTING OF THE HOLY GHOST upon us to minister and for our Lord to accomplish His work through us! The most important thing about Camp is WHAT HAPPENS SPIRITUALLY IN THE SERVICES. We want MANY people to receive the Holy Ghost and be blessed!

God bless each one of you. If you have any questions, concerns or ideas, please contact me.

Devotional By Poohie

Hello W.A.Y Choir,

When Bro.Tyler asked me to write this weeks devotional, something was on my heart and has been for a while. Sometimes we, as young people, go through certain situations and we get discouraged in our walk with God. It is at those times, when the enemy comes and tells us that God doesn't have anything for us. If we believe this, he will even go as far as trying to get us to believe that God can't do what he did on W.A.Y Choir tour at your church and in your family.
But, at that moment and time, YOUR faith, YOUR boldness, has to be put to work and you start stepping out of where were comfortable, and step into a place where God wants you to be.

I've told some of you on tour that when the disciples were on the boat and they saw Jesus walking toward them on the water, Peter told Jesus, "Bid me to walk on the water." Jesus told him to come. The boat represents your comfort zone, where you feel safe. The water represents your trouble, your trial, your situation. Yet, above and beyond all this, when Jesus says come to get what you need from Him, you have to walk on top of everything that is trying to take you down, and believe God has taken care of your situation.
I love you all, and appreciate you all, and will continue to keep you all in my prayers,

Frankie Taylor ( Poohie )

Leave It, Let It Go, And Live On!!

Weekly Devotional

I remember hearing the story of Ronald Reagan when he was just a boy. His father would come home every night in a drunken rage, and severely beat him and his mother until at some points he could not even walk. This happened throughout his childhood years until, at one point, he eventually got too big for his father to beat and his father stopped. Reagan went off to college, became a movie star, and eventually became the 40th President of the United States of America. Later, when asked about his childhood, or so the story goes, he said,

"I couldn’t touch what happened to me and get bitter, but I had to let it go, or else I wouldn’t be what I am today."

Somewhere along the line he realized, I can’t hold onto this stuff but I’ve got to let it go and live on. I can’t help what happened to me back then, but I can do something about now. I can’t help what somebody did to me yesterday, but I can do something about tomorrow. I don’t have any control about a hurt that happened to me yesterday, but if I leave it alone and let it go, I’ll be able to live on and go into everything God wants me to be.

God designed each and every one of us to have our own free personal will and option to make ourselves whatever we want to be in life. No matter what you’ve gone through in life, no matter what you’ve gone through as a person, and no matter what anybody else says, God is still out there saying my yoke is easy, and my burden is light and your future is whatever you want in me.

So in this short amount of time God has given me on this earth, I will be fruitful, I will accomplish something and I won't let the enemy bring me down!! Life is too short to hold a grudge. I've got to Leave It, Let It Go, And Live On!!!!

God Bless,
Tyler

Holy Ghost Glow?

While following the bus down the road, I snapped this picture. I thought my camera was acting goofy, so I took several more pictures and they turned out normal. So, I jokingly told people this particular picture showed a Holy Ghost glow around the bus. Later, I found out the choir was having a prayer meeting on the bus at the same time I took this picture and they even had tongues and interpretation. Maybe it was a Holy Ghost glow. What do you think?

Bro. Allard's New Arm

With two metal plates and 12 screws, Bro. Allard's arm is good as new. Now he just needs a speedy recovery. Thought you might like to see this picture of the X-Ray that shows the plates and screws in his left forearm. Thanks for all your prayers. They are effective!

Please Keep Bro. Allard in your prayers

Hey Everybody
Yesterday afternoon, while playing softball with the guys, Bro Allard was coming into home plate when he tripped and fell. He landed on his arm and when he did, Sis. Allard said that the guys could hear the bones snap. He broke both bones in his arm that connect to the wrist and they were not clean breaks. He is right now going into major arm surgery and has to have 2 metal plates screwed into his splintered bones to let them heal back together. He will not be able to use his arm for a long, long time. They did not set the bones when they went into emergency yesterday so they are still broken and the imprints of the bones can be seen against his skin. He is in alot of pain so please pray for him and that the surgery goes well. We all love the Allards and they do so much that nobody will ever know. So please keep them in your prayers and hope everything goes perfect in the surgery!!
Thanks,
Tyler

HELP!!!

Ok, I need help. Does anyone know Blogger well enough to help us? A new post was made and everything went crazy. All the sidebars are down at the bottom. Does anyone know how to get them back to the right side? Somebody help me! :)

W.A.Y. Choir Prayer Buddy List

Hello fellow WAY Choir members. I was asked to compose a Buddy Prayer List, so with the assistance of Kayla and Sheramy I hope this will suffice. As you all know prayer plays a vital role in living for God and without it, knowing His will is next to impossible. So, I ask that everyone will pray and fast for Camp Meeting. We really want the Lord to move on our behalf and use our vessels to minister to the conference congregation when we sing. It will be very helpful and appreciated if we all pray for the conference in general as well as for certain individuals. So, listed below is the Buddy Prayer List. Please take it into consideration and pray and fast for the individual you have been paired with, even if they won't be at Camp Meeting. You will find that the Lord will honor our sacrifices and bless our efforts with great reward.

Lord Bless You,
Brian Pelham

Buddy Prayer List as follows:

Keith & Anthony - Brian & Frankie - Tyler & Ivan - Brandon & Kyle - Miguel & Bryce - Josiah & Weston - Landry & Elias - Aaron & Lawrence - Jonathan & CJ

Kayla & Kadee - Lacey & Danielle - Rachel & Larissa - Sarah M. & Gabby - Coryna & Abigail - Bri & Holly - Naomi & Suzanne - Nicole R. & Elizabeth B. - Sheramy & Chloe - Nicole V. & Ashleigh - Kendra & Kissa - Veanna & Elisabeth J. - Sarah S. & Brittany

Urgent Prayer Request

I just wanted to ask everyone if they could pray for my family (The Robinson's) were going through a situation right now. A few weeks ago someone stole our rent money from the place where we pay are rent. So my mom had to go to court to try and win the case, but she didn't win. So now the owner of the place wants his money, he has no heart what so ever, he doesn't understand that we payed our rent and someone in their office stole it. So to make a long story short we've been looking for a place to live. We're looking at a house right now, but the process takes a while to go through. So we have to be out of our house by tomorrow morning, and if the stuff doesn't go through for the house we're trying to get we're gonna be living in a hotel til we find somewhere to go. I just ask that you guys say a prayer for me and my family, I know God's in control, he said he will never leave us. I just know that there's power in prayer, and when we as Christian's bind together something happens. So in your prayer time say a prayer for me thanks.
Love You Guys:)
~Nicole~

WAY Quartet Update

Hey everybody, just a quick update on the quartet. After many compliments and requests for CD's during tour this year, Bryce, Tyler, Lawrence and Keith have decided that during winter break this year they will go back to Nashville and record their debut project. The devil is a liar........the devil is a liar............oh my Jesus.............the devil is a liar............

Guarding Friendships and Relationships

Someone once said that if you can truly find more than 4 or 5 true friends in your lifetime, you are blessed. The key words I would like to point out here are "true friends."
There are a lot of people you know who will call you friend as long as the sand does not sink too deep. For as long as what you’re doing is popular with everybody else, or as long as you have a good image in front of other people. Most of the time, these kind of relationships are based on feelings and emotions, and not on trust. These are not true friendships nor are they grounded on anything solid. For instance, if somebody walks up to you at a conference or meeting, and they see you out of the corner of their eye and they come up and say to you “HEY WHATS GOING ON?” More than likely you are going to be nice and tell them not much and maybe chat for about five minutes about old times and then walk off, get something to eat and forget about them until the next time you see them. So, true friends are a rarity. If you call somebody your true friend, you have a special trust with that person that nobody else understands. Your relationship and friendship with another person is based on what you have in common, or what you have gone through together as people. True friends don’t have to try to impress each other.

The Bible describes Jesus as a friend who sticketh closer than a brother. This is a perfect example and model of the kind of friend you should want to be and should put out the energy to be because the people that say they are your friends, when it comes right down to it, how close are they going to stick to you? How deep does your friendship really go? Thank God he looked past our faults and saw our needs!!

How would you describe a true friend? Thoughtful? Listening? Meaningful? There for you? Someone who can tell you what they think without you getting mad? I guess what I am meaning to say is that you can have a lot of acquaintances in your life but to really find a person to whom you can relay your thoughts, tell how you feel, cry with, laugh with, and just be yourself, is a very difficult find.

I don’t know whether or not you can only have 4 or 5 and be blessed but I do know it is true that friendships do mean something to people and are important. And, as you develop friendships, you begin to realize that even though the friend might have some personality defects, you have to look over their personality flaws, quirks, and odd ways and guard your friendship. Even if this means keeping your mouth shut when they say or do something dumb. Your friendship with that person goes much deeper than one mistake. Jesus Christ called Judas friend even after he had had betrayed him to have him killed. Talk about forgiving! Even after betrayal to have him killed, he still favored his relationship with Judas.

Guard it (look over flaws), nurture it (don’t let something hurt it), keep it (don’t lose it, its worth sacrificing for), and like Jesus, no matter what happens to you, remember one true friendship is worth keeping!
